This video shows a technique to isolate your camera movements in Cinema 4D by putting a camera inside a null object. This allows you to animate one property at a time, such as z movement or a bank (camera roll) which is notoriously difficult when keyframing Heading, Pitch and Bank on a single object. If you tried to animate all of these on the camera alone, you can get unpredictable rotations and it’s hard to refine any single aspect of the camera motion.
This is basically a new use of the techniques covered in the Rotation Planning using Parenting Concepts and Modeling using Parenting concepts. If you haven’t watched either of those, start with the Parent Child Introduction to get an idea what is going on when parenting one object to another.
