Use OpenGL to display shadows in real time in your preview window. This is helpful when positioning lights or shadows for effect. Be aware – OpenGL is the display card on your computer and has nothing to do with the final rendering. Each computer’s OpenGL card will have different abilities, most do support shadows.
Occasionally, you’ll have crashes or bugs when using OpenGL, so it is not enabled by default and if your system experiences crashes or problems after turning it on use Cinema 4D’s built-in Software rendering instead.
